Make Single Sex Classes a Priority in Your School

According to research studies performed by various sociologists, students attending single sex classes seem to learn more than those attending coed schools. The k-12 lesson plan for those k-12 educators who have a mind to start such a class in your school will have a certain basic infrastructure.

Firstly the k-12 educators should keep in mind that the basic reason to set up such a class is not to draw gender bias to the students’ mind. A k-12 lesson plan is never going to encourage such discriminating attitudes. This can be put to use to make the boys and the girls open up better and interact freely with the attending k-12 educators.

You need to make the parents understand this basic thing. They need to agree with you about how the boys take an upper hand when it comes to class discussions. In the case of teenagers there can be endless disturbing factors which would perhaps prevent them from concentrating on their lessons.

Single sex classes can address the social hazards the adolescent faces, the little things that hurt them. This typical age group finds it very difficult to adjust to their immediate environment. You can rope in important social issues like teenage pregnancy, sibling rivalry and how to deal with it.

The boys who are being bold and always trying to project themselves as strong can find it hard to share their own problems with girls listening to them. And a girl will find it strange to share a personal query with the boys straining their ears to hear all their words.

During parent and teachers workshops you need to explain these delicate things to the audience and as a group of confident k-12 educators you should be able to convince them.
