Description
As a teacher or administrator in the public school forum, one of your main objectives is to make sure that all students in your school community have equal access to the curriculum.
You may acknowledge that children who come from diverse family backgrounds, including children with same-sex parents, have similar needs like other children. That is true, however, you may not be able to fill their needs in the same way that you provide for other students.
The problem is that sometimes their family circumstances and the community’s perceptions about them make them feel different than other students. Therefore, they have some additional needs that must be met. It is your responsibility to determine how their needs can be provided for, so you can help all of your student thrive in your classroom.
