In most of the schools, there is a tendency to make it friendlier towards the male students rather than the female students. Although we are living in an age of gender equality, but still, things are mostly done keeping in mind the male students.

But the ideal scenario must be that every kind and type of student must feel comfortable with the k-12 lesson plan. Or else, the final objective of making every student educated will not be fulfilled.
The most important step in making the k-12 lesson plan more gender equity oriented is by changing the curriculum and the text books, so that both male and female students are comfortable reading them. In an initiative, many states in the US and many countries across the world are trying to change the text books in order to portray women in a much more positive role. The schools must also change their k-12 lesson plan in order to create more opportunities for the girl students. The k-12 teachers also have an important part to play in this whole set up. They also need to show more respect to the girl students and also give importance to them both in and outside the class. The students learn a lot observing the teachers and so, the k-12 teachers must provide them with the correct model of behavior while dealing with their female counterparts.
