During a recent conference of Mayors in Washington DC, the Philadelphia Mayor Michael A. Nutter also mentioned about STEM education and its importance. Unquestionably, science and technology play a vital role in every industry. “With STEM education in place, there will be definitely an improvement in our education system,” said Nutter during his speech. STEMconnector CEO Edie Fraser also mentioned details about new plans to introduce STEM education. As per a survey, it has been found out that 1 in every 4 high-school students are interested in pursuing a STEM major career. “It can be challenging to connect education to the workforce need,” says Edie Fraser at a recently organized Town Hall event. He also mentioned that the percentage of students pursuing science and engineering as a career will even grow more by 20 percent in next few years. This number is almost twice the rate of the labor force in the nation. Edie also feels that STEM education should be considered and regarded as the most important and hot topics in education industry of today. He also accepts the facts about the challenges and shortcomings that may come across while maintaining introducing STEM education, which is one of the hot topics in education today. “The approach may seem difficult in the beginning, but it will be a successful trend in the future,” said Edie during the event.
