Gender issues have been the talk of people around the world and especially in the United States. Many are talking about it, in websites, in forums, in newspapers and in other reading materials.
With relation to gender issues, women are the ones being talked about the most. Women have always been compared to men. Women fight for ways wherein they can try and excel in a male dominated world. Women are generally given responsibilities of motherhood, child bearing and the household.
In many cultures women are not allowed to make decisions in society and are often subject to domestic violence and sexual abuse. America is a country of the free and there is a good mixture of cultures that comprise the American public. The treatment toward women in the United States, even in education, is one that is a constant battle between the sexes. Some women feel that they are denied their right to health and to earn a equal living.
Difficulties for girls in school
Being in grade school can often be a very difficult thing for many girls. They are often bullied about being weaker than the boys and the boys use their strength against the girls. There are even a few severe cases where high school boys tend to use their strength against the girls by raping them. It is because of this injustice at women that the authorities declare a human right of Gender Equality.
Gender equality is the equality between genders of the male and female sex. This gender equality is not just a human right. Its main concern is a woman’s right. Since gender equality was declared, women have been able to find that they can have protection against discrimination. This human right aids to the empowerment and influence of women in the society. Women make progress in terms of education and politics because of the effectiveness of this right.
Nowadays, women challenge men because women have the opportunity to excel in education. According to the U.S Census Bureau statistics it shows that women have a high rating in education. Women who graduate with a bachelor’s degree achieve 23.7 percent and men achieved 27.5 percent. This only proves that women in general are able to do as well as men even in academics and thus have the right to be treated with equality. UNICEF is now making sure that women and children will not be deprived of their rights as a human being.
Women deserve to have a quality education in order for them to prove their worth in society, to maximize their potential and to develop their talents to be an important contributor to mankind and to have a productive and peaceful life in the community.
